2. Oak Clips Pet Boutique & Grooming

About Company

When we started Oak Clips, we knew we wanted to be an integral part of the neighborhood because fostering a personal relationship with our clients and their pets is our number one goal. Our first neighborhood pet shop was established in 2011 within the tight-knit community of merchants, businesses, and residents that make up the historic Bishop Arts District of Oak Cliff. Oak Clips was born in The Cannon Village, a historically-important shopping center designated by the Dallas Preservation league as ‘architecturally at-risk’ and in desperate need of renovation. After building out the space and opening our doors, we quickly learned to engage with the myriad cultures in the area and adapt to the needs of the neighborhood. Oak Cliff’s growing consumer appeal increased demand for diverse, unique and high quality products. By forming relationships with area artisans, Oak Clips was able to bring locally crafted goods to the community. This organic growth afforded Oak Clips the opportunity to expand our shop through more retail floor space and a larger assortment of pet foods and products. As we continued to build on this business model, our consistent dedication to customers was rewarded in 2014 when we won “The Best Pet Service in Oak Cliff” by The Oak Cliff Advocate.

We were proud to launch our 2nd Oak Clips on Greenville Avenue (across from the Granada Theater) in 2015. Oak Clips is excited to continue to grow our ‘pet shop’ concept within our new neighborhood, while always making our customers, their pets, and our community our top priority.

3. Downtown Dog

About Company

Downtown Dog is a social doggie daycare and boarding facility just blocks from downtown Dallas, but to the pups who come here it’s a world all its own. Opened in 2007 this tree-lined city block is filled with an acre and a half of yards to romp in, pools to splash in, and all the pack time and play time every dog needs. There are 10 outdoor play yards and more than 11, 000 square feet of indoor play space. To make sure the fun doesn’t stop our experienced handlers are trained to let the pups play while making sure they stay safe and healthy. While getting rave reviews from pleased clients is satisfying, it pales in comparison to the excited, glad-to-be-here happiness we see every time a pup comes through our doors.
